Starry night
The big dipper is huge in the sky! And Venus is so bright she looks like an airplane coming in for a landing. I’m not used to seeing Cassiopeia in the western sky; she looks upside down. Mars is very red. Sirius is chasing Orion right across.

Last night I took the dog out and stood on the patio waiting for her to be done. She sniffed around a bit, then froze. Staring over to the side of the yard, she took one slow step. Then, two more slow steps. I thought “No way is there anything out in this weather!” Suddenly she bolted to the fence, and a little brown rabbit darted off across the icy expanse behind our back yard! Wow. I couldn’t believe it.
